Marykay ~ Decatur Alpaca Cottage — Nice to meet you!

I’m Marykay and my family has lived on our urban farm for nearly 17 years. Our home was built on what used to be a dairy farm long ago! Although the original homestead and surrounding area have evolved quite a bit, I still enjoy staying close to the simpler things in life; a garden, animals, good people, and the beauty of nature.
I have a 30-year career working with clients around the world and enjoy this work quite a lot. The combination of that and a passion for nature makes hosting guests at Your Alpaca Cottage a natural extension of what I already love doing!
To host well combines attention to detail, a good bit of business sense, and gracious hospitality. A fun fact ~ as a kid I often built forts in the woods behind our home and played house with my friends. Being an Airbnb Superhost is a lot like those childhood pastimes on a much larger scale! I joyfully sweat the small stuff; creating a comfortable cottage with just the right touch of whimsy and also finding ways to surprise and delight our guests with little touches that show we care. This level of warmth has earned Your Alpaca Cottage 5-star ratings across the board!
